Necessary

  • - keys for 10 and 13;
  • - flat-blade screwdriver;
  • - side cutters

Instructions

Step 1

Removing the hood on the Oka car, begin by outlining the outlines of the washers of the bolts that attach it to the hinges. This will help to later install it in the same place. After that, remove these bolts, asking the assistant to hold the hood. After removing both bolts, remove the hood from the vehicle. When installing a new hood, before the final tightening of the bolts, check its adherence to the body, the uniformity of the gaps around the hood perimeter, the reliability of the lock operation and the ease of opening it.

Step 2

On a VAZ-2101/2102/2103/2106 car, to remove the hood, open it, squeeze the elastic rods of the hood with your hand and remove them from the holes in the bracket. Then unscrew three nuts on each hinge and remove the hood. When installing a new hood, be guided by the marks from the old one. Place it on the nuts, but do not completely tighten. Achieve uniformity of clearances around the perimeter when the hood is closed. Then carefully open it, without knocking out the exposed position, and tighten the fastening nuts. After checking the clearances again, make sure the lock opens easily and locks the hood securely.

Step 3

On VAZ-2104/2105/2107 cars, before removing the hood, mark with a marker the position of the hinges relative to the hood. This will allow it to be installed without adjustment. Remove the bonnet support from the bracket on the radiator frame panel. While the assistant is holding the hood, remove the hood bolts on both hinges and remove the hood. When installing the hood, be sure to check the clearances between it and the fenders around the perimeter and adjust if necessary. And also check the reliability of locking and ease of opening the lock.

Step 4

On cars of the Samara and Samara-2 family (VAZ-2108/2109/21099/2113/2114/2115), open the hood and mark the location of the mounting bolts on the bracket. Then, disconnect the washer hose from the hood tee and remove the hose from the hood. Disconnect the connector from the engine compartment lamp and remove the wires from the hood. If you intend to install the same hood, tie a wire or rope to the block. After removing the wires, untie the rope and leave it inside the hood. During installation, it will be easier to pull the wires to the engine compartment lamp. Continuing with the hood removal procedure, unscrew the two retaining bolts on each hinge and remove it. When installing the old hood, align it according to the marks made. This will eliminate the need to adjust it. Adjust the new hood according to the described procedure.

Step 5

On the VAZ-2110/2111/2112 car and the Priora family, also start the removal procedure by marking the washers relative to the hood hinges. Do not remove the noise insulation, rubber buffers and safety hook if they are on the new hood. If there is a need for this, remove the safety hook by unscrewing the two bolts of its fastening. Unscrew the rubber buffers. To dismantle the sound insulation, remove the seventeen plastic caps of its fastening, picking them up with a screwdriver. On cars of the Priora family, additionally cut the clamp of the windscreen washer hose holder and remove the holder itself. Then disconnect the washer hose from its pump. Unscrew the two fastening nuts on both hinges. At this time, the assistant must firmly hold the hood. Pay attention to the spring washers located under the retaining nuts. With the help of an assistant, remove the studs on the hood from the holes in the hinges and remove the hood.

Step 6

To install a new hood, place it on the hinges and adjust it using the enlarged holes in the hinges. Cover the hood and move it so that its leading edge is flush with the radiator grille before final tightening of the mounting nuts. Open the hood carefully and tighten the nuts completely. After that, take care of installing noise insulation, rubber buffers and a safety hook. After that, by rotating the rubber buffers, adjust the hood in height so that the gaps between it and the front fenders become uniform along the entire perimeter. Check the ease of opening and tightness of the bonnet lock.
