If it is torn off near the handle, remove it and pull the cable with pliers - the hood will open. In the second case, drive into the pit, remove the protection and open the lock under the hood. Then pull the new cable along the old route.

Step 1
Begin removing the broken cable from the handle, which must be pulled to open the hood. Remove it or just look under the dashboard and if you can see the remainder of the cable, squeeze it with pliers and pull it towards you. The hood will open, and with it, access to the torso. If the cable is torn under the hood, drive into a pit or a lift, remove the engine protection, be sure to wait until the engine cools down so as not to get burned, and then, running your hand between the engine block and the radiator, feel the hood lock spring and pull it back into that side where she is moving. As a rule, it is pushed towards the battery. Then open the hood.
Step 2
To remove the old cable, pull it out of the fastener in the lock spring (there are different systems, but as a rule, a screwdriver and pliers are enough for this operation). Then remove the mount near the handle. Do this work carefully - very often access to this part of the cabin is difficult. Then release the fasteners on the body, which are most often ordinary rubber plugs with holes, pull out the cable.
Step 3
Install a new cable starting from the engine compartment. Secure the new torso to the lock spring in the same way as the old one. Then insert it into the special mount and secure with the rubber retainer. Before running the cable into the passenger compartment, put on a special plastic cap on it, which will serve as a stop. Feed the cable into the passenger compartment through a special hole and fasten it to the handle. When tightening the loop on the handle, ask to pull back the spring with the cable for better tension.
Step 4
In order for the cable to last longer, lubricate its outputs with lithol. When replacing, it is better to pay attention to multi-strand cables, as they are more durable, flexible and less prone to stretching and wear.
