At a show in Detroit earlier this year, Volkswagen unveiled a new version of its electric sports car, the E-Bugster. This model is imbued with special dynamics, has a characteristic shape for a speedster and feels great on the road.

The E-Bugster, based on the New Beetle, has a sporty and aggressive body design - a low roof, swept windows, 20-inch wheels, wide C-pillars and small front pillars. Due to its relatively low weight (80 kg), it can accelerate to 100 km per hour within 10 seconds. And this two-seater speedster works on a lithium-ion battery pack.

The updated car charging system allows you to replenish energy reserves at a dedicated station in just 35 minutes. The battery will be charged from a stationary outlet overnight. The charging cable interface is located next to the rear pillar.

The E-Bugster is trimmed with aluminum, which is present on the handles and seat belt guides. At the touch of the start button, a spectacular backlight is activated, which appears on the car dashboard and then spreads in a thin stripe throughout the interior. White light is gradually replaced by blue light.

There is a power indicator on the dashboard, which indicates the amount of energy expended by the driver. The charging status of the vehicle and the number of kilometers traveled are displayed.

The new device, which reflects the rate of battery regeneration, is also of particular importance. Regeneration is achieved through a new electric drive technology called Blue-e-Motion. Thanks to it, kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy and accumulates in the battery as soon as the driver takes his foot off the brake or gas pedal. This energy recovery allowed the E-Bugster to extend its range.

In general, the E-Bugster resembles a convertible speedster - the Ragster, which Volkswagen represented seven years ago at the same Detroit show. However, the new model is shorter, wider and more sporty. The height of the car is 1400 mm, the width is 1840 cm, and the length of the E-Bugster reaches 4278 mm.
