Step 1
Check the manual for your vehicle. It contains a detailed diagram of the structure of various parts and assemblies of the machine. Find the description of the torpedo device. Carefully study all the nuances of its dismantling. Choose a place where you will perform the procedure. A garage with electricity is best suited for this purpose. Drive the car into it. Apply the parking brake. Turn off the ignition and remove the keys from the lock. Open the hood and remove the negative terminal from the battery. This will avoid short circuits.
Step 2
Open the front doors as much as possible. If they are not kept open at their maximum position, insert something between the wing and the door, such as a piece of wood. Now remove all trims and decorative pieces from the panel. Locate the bolts that secure the air duct grilles. Unscrew them and remove the grilles themselves. Take out the radio. Remove the center pad on the steering wheel. Under it you will see a nut with a hairpin. Carefully remove the stud and unscrew the nut. Then remove the steering wheel and steering column switches.
Step 3
Find all the screws that secure the torpedo. Unscrew them carefully. Try to remember the location of the screws, as they may differ slightly from each other. Now the dashboard is held only by plastic clips. Find them on the diagram in the instruction manual. Squeeze gently to avoid damage. Grab the torpedo with your hands on the sides and gently pull it towards you. Pull it out about 10-15 centimeters. Disconnect all wiring after marking it. Pull the torpedo out through the front passenger door. Flip it right side down. The dashboard is attached with several screws. Unscrew them. Remove the panel carefully as it is attached to the glass.
