Sometimes in the process of diagnosing a car, as well as during the elimination of various malfunctions, it becomes necessary to remove the instrument panel and arrows in it. This is a very troublesome business, and if you decide to take on this work yourself, then be prepared to spend a lot of time.

Necessary

  • - screwdrivers;
  • - spanners;
  • - thin pliers;
  • - old bank card;
  • - pliers.

Instructions

Step 1

First remove the shelf of the glove compartment and dismantle the instrument panel. Tighten the nuts in sequence with a wrench, starting from the panel and moving towards the engine compartment flap. Do not forget, using a screwdriver, to unscrew and self-tapping screws. Disconnect the heater control cables and remove the steering column.

Step 2

Please note that the arrows of the speedometer, gas gauge and tachometer are very thin and fragile. And during their removal, in no case should the thin springs be damaged, since without them they will not be able to function normally. Disassemble the console and, from the inside, clamp the axis on which the arrow is attached using thin pliers with long ends. Then squeeze it as tightly as possible and remove the arrow with your hand. And do this with each.

Step 3

At the same time, pay special attention to the axis, since if it moves to the outside just a little bit, then a small roller will fall out of it and it will be very difficult to put it back. Without it, the arrows will not be able to work normally. Do not forget to de-energize them before direct removal, for this you just need to turn off the engine.

Step 4

Take an old bank card. Make a slit inside it. Place it inside the arrow, and slowly and carefully turning the base, pull it towards you. This method is very convenient for those who are afraid to break the arrows or cannot pry them with their hand. It is worth pulling the arrow towards yourself only when you twisted it along the axis and slightly up.

Step 5

When shooting this way, be sure to remember their "dead zone". Also, when removing, you can use pliers, just choose them with narrow and curved ends, with the help of them you can accurately and quickly remove the arrows from the dashboard.

Step 6

Pay careful attention to arrows when reinstalling them. Be extremely careful with the tachometer. If you could not immediately get to exactly zero, remove it again and in any case, do not move your finger either to the right or to the left, since then you simply will not be able to catch it. And she will "walk" next to zero. Do the same with the others.
