With the onset of the winter season and the arrival of severe frosts, the question of starting the car engine in the morning becomes more urgent. The reason for the difficult start of the engine in cold weather is a frozen battery.
Necessary
Hot water tank, electric heater, electric hair dryer
Instructions
Step 1
The cooled electrolyte loses its density, which leads to a decrease in the battery charge, and, consequently, to insufficient power supply to the starter, which, after several unsuccessful attempts to start the engine, refuses to crank it.
Step 2
And, it would seem, a completely discharged battery, after several unsuccessful attempts to start the engine, is no longer capable of anything, without additional charging from the mains. But such a statement is highly erroneous.
Step 3
It is still possible to restore the battery charge without connecting to a charger. To achieve this goal, it is enough to warm up the electrolyte in the battery.
Step 4
This task can be achieved, for example, by immersing the battery in a container with hot water, but so that the battery cover remains at the top, above the surface of the water.
Step 5
Or install the battery in the path of the warm air flow coming from any heating device (electric hair dryer, air heater, etc.).
Step 6
After the battery case becomes warm, try again to start the engine, and I assure you, the car owner will be pleasantly surprised. The starter will crank the engine with such fury, as if the ambient temperature is not minus 30, but plus 30 degrees.
