For some, a car is an unattainable dream, for others it is a means of transportation, for others it is a symbolic object that means all unexplored roads. In any case, the car requires care and affection, if you like. And when any part breaks in the car, the owner suffers from his own injury. And if the ceiling in the car deteriorates, the driver literally grabs his head.
Instructions
Step 1
So, why do ceilings in cars deteriorate? Firstly, it is influenced by climatic conditions, temperature drops, humidity. Secondly, the quality of the car upholstery manufacturing in the domestic auto industry leaves much to be desired. And thirdly, banal, from old age.
And what to do, you ask. The ceiling must be re-fitted.
Step 2
Choose the material with which you will fit the ceiling and paste over the interior, buy glue (preferably in a can), clean gasoline to degrease the surface. The material should be tight, but not thick.
Step 3
Disassemble the headlining and carefully remove it from the vehicle interior through the front door.
Step 4
Get rid of the old headliner, degrease the surface.
Step 5
Spread the new fabric on a flat surface, place the prepared ceiling on top and cut the fabric along the outline, leaving 5-7 cm seam allowances.
Step 6
Turn the ceiling over so the fabric is on top. Fold back a part of the fabric 10-15 cm, apply glue on it and on the surface of the ceiling, press firmly, trying to iron all the embossed areas.
Step 7
Gently, strip by strip, glue the fabric to the ceiling, leaving only the edges intact. After the glue dries (read the instructions on the package), carefully fold the edges of the fabric, make notches so that it lies flat, and glue it with a supermoment.
Step 8
Cut holes for attaching handles, lamps, visors.
Step 9
Wrap the visor with the wrong side of the fabric and carefully sew it with a needle and thread on three sides. Remove the visor from the resulting cover, turn the cover out, insert the visor and sew the fourth side with a blind seam. The ceiling is ready to be installed in the machine.
