A car compressor is one of those indispensable items that should always be in the trunk. Modern electric compressors inflate a wheel in minutes and have a ton of additional features. You just have to choose the right compressor power and choose the design you like.
Instructions
Step 1
When choosing a compressor, pay attention to its technical characteristics. Any pump manual must include performance data. To inflate the tires of a passenger car and an SUV, 30-40 l / min will be enough. If you need to inflate truck or bus tires, choose a compressor with a capacity of 45-55 l / min. But keep in mind that these compressors are connected to the battery, as they consume more power.
Step 2
Another quantity required for the correct selection is pressure. In standard cases, it should be from 1, 8 to 3 kg / cm2. Pay attention to the current consumption when the compressor is running, how many minutes it can work continuously.
Step 3
There are two types of compressors: diaphragm and piston. A reciprocating compressor is preferable because a diaphragm compressor may not work well at low temperatures.
Step 4
Choose a compressor with additional features. All pumps must have a built-in pressure gauge that monitors the tire pressure. It is better if the pressure can be measured with a pressure gauge without turning on the compressor.
Step 5
In addition to the pumps, there are nozzles for inflating bicycle tires, balls, rubber boats.
Step 6
The compressor itself can be fitted with a lamp and an alarm function. Such models are very convenient: in the dark, you can shine a light on the wheel.
Step 7
Before buying, be sure to hold the compressor in your hands, it should not be heavy. Choose a compact pump size that won't take up much space in your trunk. And you need to carry the compressor with you all the time.
Step 8
Among the various modifications and designs, choose a black or gray compressor, preferably in a case. But compressors in the form of plastic suitcases are not very convenient to use due to their bulkiness.
