Strong impacts of the body against the axle beams when driving a laden car, difficult traffic control indicate external manifestations of wear or breakage of the rear suspension spring. To improve the further course of the car, they need to be replaced, but how can this be done?
Necessary
- - mounting blade
- - two keys "for 19"
Instructions
Step 1
You need to know that all springs, depending on the length and load of 3425 N (350 kgf), are divided into two classes: class "A", the length of which is more than 278 mm and class "B", the length of which is less than or equal to 278 mm. At the same time, the "B" class springs on the outer side of the coils are painted over with black paint, and the "A" class springs are not painted over at all.
Step 2
If you drove the car into the inspection pit, then under the rear axle beam you need to install a support and lower the car onto it, after slightly loading the suspension. If not, jack up the car, also lightly loading the suspension, and disconnect the lower shock absorber pivot, which is located on the rear axle.
Step 3
Then lift the machine, thereby unloading the spring (when you see the tension in the brake hose, then the lifting should be stopped), and rest the mounting paddle on the very support of the rear suspension spring and remove the lower coil from this support. But do not forget that you must bring it forward along the course of your car.
Step 4
Very carefully and carefully remove the spring from the rear suspension of the vehicle. Remove the lower gasket from the support on the rear axle beam, and the upper gasket from the support on the body. Then, new gaskets should be fastened to the new spring so that the screw surfaces of these elements coincide with the spring coils. Remember that when installing the spring, it is necessary to ensure that the beginning of the screw surface of the gaskets coincides with the end of the spring coil.
Step 5
Next, install the spring in the reverse order of removal. Then you need to turn the spring so as to ensure that the screw surfaces of the lower gasket and the support cup evenly hit the rear axle housing and reinstall all the removed parts. Do not forget that the rear axle springs from the same group and from the same class with the front axle springs must be installed on the car on the right and left. But there are exceptions: when class A springs are installed in the front suspension, it is allowed to install class B springs in the rear suspension.
