Owning a garage that is not equipped with a viewing hole is considered bad manners. Especially among those motorists who prefer to repair their car with their own hands and not waste their time visiting car repair stations to fix minor malfunctions.

Necessary

  • - roulette,
  • - level (preferably water),
  • - entrenching tool,
  • - sand, crushed stone, cement and water.

Instructions

Step 1

Most car owners start building a garage with a foundation marking, while at the same time marking a place for a viewing pit. But in cases where the garage is purchased ready-made: with walls and a ceiling, during the construction of which they did not take care of the construction of a viewing hole, it will have to be done independently.

Step 2

Before starting the construction work on the arrangement of the garage, it is necessary to take into account some of the nuances:

- the length of the inspection pit (it should be 0.5 m longer than the car), - width - 700 mm clean (plus the thickness of the pit walls), - depth is individual and depends on the owner's height (on average 1, 8 m), - in the walls of the pit, it is envisaged to organize auxiliary niches for placing tools and other needs.

Step 3

Taking into account all of the above, they begin to mark the pit for the future inspection pit, and the subsequent excavation of soil from it.

After that, a formwork is installed in the pit according to the water level, the lower side edges of which are 200 mm above the bottom, and the upper one - 50 mm below the floor surface.

Step 4

The construction of the formwork must be treated with special responsibility. Any defect at this stage threatens that it will be necessary to perform all the work anew.

Step 5

Having installed the formwork, the space between it and the walls of the pit is filled with a concrete mixture, prepared independently, or purchased ready-made on a mortar-concrete unit.

Step 6

After the concrete is poured, metal inserts are placed in the upper part of the perimeter of the walls of the inspection pit, to which a frame made of a steel corner 50x50 mm is then welded.

Step 7

After a few days, after the concrete has hardened, the formwork is removed, and further construction work is carried out: plastering the walls, making the floor of the pit from boards (it fits into the metal frame from above), etc.
