Another passenger car, Lada Granta, has appeared among the new products of AvtoVAZ. But this is not an ordinary phenomenon, but an event that will go down in history. Because for the first time ever, the Russian automotive company will launch mass production of cars with an automatic transmission (automatic transmission).
In addition to the transmission, which is unusual for this brand, the new Lada with automatic transmission has an airbag for the passenger sitting in front. It includes air conditioning and anti-lock brakes. The company has already announced the cost of the car - 373,300 rubles.
Newly made cars with automatic transmission received their design, consisting of 4 steps, from Jatco from Japan. The fact is that partners of AvtoVAZ Nissan and Renault work closely with this supplier. From the manufacturer's information, the automation is perfectly combined with a powerful 1.6-liter engine.
Oleg Khramkov, who is in charge of the introduction of automatic transmission at AvtoVAZ, shared some of the intricacies of testing the transmission on the Lada Granta. Her work has become more tangible for drivers. That is, the acceleration power of the car very smoothly changes depending on the depression of the accelerator pedal. The same sensitive gearbox will receive another new generation car - Lada Kalina, which is scheduled to be released in 2013 in Togliatti.
Lada Granta itself, among other things, will be equipped with some peculiar elements. These are front suspension parts and wiring harnesses. The car received the software from the German company AVL, which carried out its calibration.
In addition, the new Lada will be released in two variations. In addition to all the advantages that the usual new Lada with automatic transmission will have, Lada Granta Lux will be equipped with upper handrails, L-shaped head restraints on the rear seats, cigarette lighters, ashtrays and heat-absorbing tinted windows. These cars will serve as exhibition models in the dealer network of AvtoVAZ.
Already in the fall of 2012, it is planned to produce about 10 thousand Lada Granta cars, the uniqueness of which lies in the fact that there have not yet been cheaper cars with automatic transmissions for sale in Russia. Experts have suggested that the demand for cars will be quite high. Therefore, the Volzhsky Automobile Plant intends to produce in 2013 more than 100 thousand newest "cars".
