Winter is the most unpleasant time of the year for a motorist living in the middle lane (there is nothing to say about the north). Very often, in the cold, the car simply refuses to start, even if it has been on the street for only a couple of nights. This could be due to bad or dirty spark plugs, oxidized battery terminals, poor oil, or a build-up of frozen condensation in the muffler. The best way to avoid such situations is, of course, prevention and proper maintenance. But if something goes wrong, there are many ways to solve your specific problem. Let us dwell in more detail on the accumulation of frozen condensate in the muffler. The way out of such an unpleasant situation is to warm it up.

Step 1
You can try to drive the car to a service station, where for a symbolic amount the foremen will do all the work in the best possible way. You can start the car in order to take it to a car service if you unscrew the exhaust pipe (or simply pants) below the catalyst, which is used to further purify the exhaust gases. The car will start. But there is a small "but". The car will make a lot of noise, even roar, which is not surprising, because you removed part of the muffler.
Step 2
If there is no desire or opportunity to tow the vehicle, you will have to act independently. Before you need to warm up, you need to know where, in fact, to start heating. Condensation usually collects further away from the engine. Therefore, you need to start heating with a can under the bumper.
Step 3
You can reanimate your car's muffler in different ways: with a gas torch, blowtorch, heat gun, after all. You shouldn't take the advice that you can warm up the exhaust pipe with a hairdryer. Nothing good, I think, will come of it.
Step 4
As a rule, when the muffler warms up, a small hole is punched in it with a nail. This is done so that the water formed from the frozen condensate flows out. In Soviet cars, motorists made two holes in advance to avoid such situations.
Step 5
If you do not have any of the above tools at hand (even a hair dryer), then there is an option to drag the car in tow to a car wash or warm garage. After standing there for several hours, it should move away by itself, the condensate should melt. After that, you still need to warm up the muffler with one of the above tools. The best way to prevent such an unpleasant situation is prevention. That is, it is necessary to prepare the car for the winter season in advance, it is not for nothing that the Russian people said: "Prepare the sled in the summer, and the cart in the winter."
