Either by sound or by the tachometer, it is necessary to monitor the engine speed. Experienced drivers determine the moment of shifting from lower to upper gear by sound only. The smaller the engine displacement, the faster the switching point comes. In the event that the speed needs to be reduced, then at the right time, when the revolutions are at the bottom of the tachometer, it is necessary to switch the box to a lower gear. Otherwise, the gearbox will have increased wear.

Once a novice driver understands the basics of gear shifting, he needs to bring the gear shifting process to automatic. For this, the best time is the weekend, when the roads are freer and while driving it is possible to both slow down and accelerate using a manual gearbox. Traffic jams can also be useful for this, when the driver needs to quickly work with the shifting of the lowest gears.
