Step 1
Going to the MREO traffic police, first of all, take your passport. If you have a driver's license, you should take it with you. You will also need a car passport. For a complete set, prepare a car registration certificate and its license plates. If you cannot provide them, write a statement.
Step 2
If the owner of the car is not you, take care of the power of attorney. It should inform you that the owner of the car transfers you the right to represent his interests in the traffic police. Issue the power of attorney according to all the rules. A notary can help with this.
Step 3
In order to keep the numbered units, the car must be brought to the traffic police. There the inspector will check the numbers of the necessary units. If the car is no longer capable of movement, call the inspector "at home". After verification, he will hand you the inspection document.
Step 4
Pay the state duty for the released license plate unit. It is only 200 rubles. You give the receipt of payment along with all other documents. And you will be given a certificate for the released unit.
Step 5
For legal entities, the list of documents is slightly expanded. If a company car is to be scrapped, a trusted person is chosen. An employee comes to the traffic police with his passport, PTS, vehicle registration certificate. A power of attorney from the company for the disposal of the car is required.
Step 6
The authorized person also needs an act of writing off fixed assets in two copies. It is also necessary to present a garage card, another confirmed code of the vehicle fleet. The final document for scrapping a car is an extract from the unified state register of legal entities. It must be drawn up no later than six months.
Step 7
If you do not have a vehicle passport, or license plates, or a registration certificate, you cannot get off with a simple statement to the traffic police. It is necessary for the authorized person to present the report of the official investigation. Its content must indicate the reasons for the loss of the above.
Step 8
After submitting the documents, you will be given a certificate. It authorizes the disposal of your vehicle. With it, you can safely contact any company to complete this task. But do not forget to pay transport tax for the time period when you were the owner of the car.
