Scooter owners often face the problem of a flat tire. You can solve it yourself. But at the same time it must be remembered that removing the rear wheel is more difficult than dismantling the front one, since it is required to disassemble most of the moped. And this is even despite the fact that his rear wheel is only attached with one nut.

Necessary

  • - Socket wrench;
  • - wooden block;
  • - a piece of white cloth.

Instructions

Step 1

For more convenient removal of the wheel from the scooter, first remove the muffler. To do this, detach the seat and the lower plastic skirt, after which you can loosen the screws that are involved in attaching the muffler to the frame, but in no case unscrew them completely.

Step 2

Now unscrew the nuts that secure the muffler to the cylinder, and only then finally remove the bolts. Hold the muffler with your free hand and carefully remove it. In doing so, try not to lose the rubber gasket between it and the cylinder. After removing it, take a clean piece of cloth and cover the cylinder outlet with it. It is best to use a socket wrench to loosen the nuts, and to make it easier to hold the wheel, fix the rear brake lever with a rope. It will be useful to inspect the removed muffler for carbon deposits.

Step 3

Only after the muffler is removed from the scooter, you can proceed to the direct dismantling of its rear wheel, for which you need to unscrew the nut. To do this, apply the rear brake. In most cases, the nut can then be easily removed. If it doesn't, try locking the wheel. To do this, you can use a wooden block that is pushed into the disc. You can also open the clutch cover to make it easier to hold the clutch washer with your hand. This will prevent the rear wheel from spinning.

Step 4

As soon as the nut is unscrewed, remove the wheel from the spline, after which you can start repairing it. After completing the repair work, reassemble all disassembled parts of the scooter in reverse order. Before doing this, do not forget to apply a locking compound to the shaft threads and coat the splines with grease.
