The problem of preserving the thermal energy of the engine in winter most often arises before the employees of various offices who get to their place of business by personal transport. A standing car in severe frost for several hours may simply not start due to hypothermia.
Necessary
heat-insulating material - 3 sq.m
Instructions
Step 1
The purchase of an engine compartment insulation for a specific model of a car is a difficult and costly task. Therefore, many car owners in central Russia are forced to glue thermal insulation in the engine compartment on their own.
Step 2
For this purpose, a heat-insulating material is purchased from an enterprise that sells construction products, which is in no way inferior in physical parameters to automobile counterparts, but it multiplies in cost.
Step 3
The most common building heat insulator used by motorists is foil-clad "Penofol", which is manufactured using a technology that is identical in the production of similar products used for gluing cars.
Step 4
The technology of warming the engine compartment does not require special skills, and each car owner can cope with such a task on his own. First, the templates of the places on which it is planned to stick "Penofol" or the material of another manufacturer are cut out from the newspapers.
Step 5
Then the patterns are made according to the templates, the protective film is removed from the inside of the heat insulator, and it is glued to the previously prepared (degreased) places. It is enough to spend an hour and a half of personal time, and the problem of keeping heat by the engine will be solved.
