Winters are very cold in almost all regions of Russia. Because of this, motorists often have to use the stove. In addition, in the morning you have to warm up the interior for a long time. If this cannot be remedied in any way, then the engine can be insulated. This will allow it to warm up faster.

Any driver knows not to drive if the engine is cold. In this case, the car simply will not budge. Before insulating the engine, it must first be cleaned. To do this, you will need to remove the radiator grill and clean the dirt from the engine.

After cleaning, take a construction tape and measure under the engine. Then you need to do the same with the hole in the grille. Thus, the dimensions for the future workpiece will be obtained. Now you can take the leatherette and apply the dimensions of the workpiece to it using chalk. After that, you need to cut a piece of the appropriate size. The same actions should be done with foam rubber. He will have to be under the leatherette. The leatherette should protrude from all sides of the foam by about 20 cm.

In the same way, you need to cut out the insulation for the engine. Just remember to leave a hole to drain the oil. Of course, no one will drain it in winter, but it is better to do this, just in case. It is imperative to exclude contact of the collector and exhaust pipe with foam rubber, otherwise the car may catch fire while driving. If this cannot be done, then asbestos tape should be used. It is necessary to treat the crankcase protection with anti-corrosion agents. After that, you can install the bottom insulation.

To attach the upper insulation, you need to drill holes in the wheel arch liners. Three holes on each side are enough. The edges must be processed with mastic. After that, hooks should be sewn to the upper insulation in accordance with the number of holes made. Next, you need to make holes for air. Bolts of suitable size with screwed steel hinges must be inserted into the holes. It is to them that the hooks of the insulation will be attached.
