The cold season is the most unpleasant for most car enthusiasts. The car can stop starting, even after standing in the cold for a very short time. There can be many reasons, including the accumulation of condensate in the exhaust pipe and its freezing.

Instructions

Step 1

Drive the car to the nearest car service, where specialists perform muffler warming up in the best possible way. To do this, unscrew the front exhaust pipe, which is often called "pants". It is located just below the catalyst required for additional purification of the exhaust gases. After that, start the car and go to the service. Remember that in this state the vehicle will make a lot of noise and roar, which will cause a lot of trouble not only for you, but also for those around you.

Step 2

Before you start heating yourself, you need to know where in most cases condensate accumulates and where to start heating it. Warm up from a can under the bumper, as condensation builds up near the engine. Any means are suitable for this procedure: a gas burner, a heater, a blowtorch. Remember that in this case, leave the hairdryer as a last resort, if nothing more serious is at hand. Its capacity may not be sufficient to carry out such an operation.

Step 3

Make a small hole in the muffler. An ordinary nail is suitable for this. This is necessary so that the water that will appear during warming up flows out. If you want to play it safe, then "perforate" the exhaust pipe in two places. These holes will be useful in the future, so that the accumulating condensate has time to drain out and not turn into ice.

Step 4

If you do not have any of the above tools at hand, ask neighbors or friends to be towed to any warm place, for example, to a garage or to a car wash. After a few hours spent in a warm room, the condensation should leave. Do not forget after that to warm up the muffler anyway in order to finally get rid of the moisture accumulated in it.
