The basis of the cooling system is the pipes. Someone may cry out, but what about the radiator, thermostat? But what is the use of these elements if they are located in different parts of the engine compartment and are not connected by anything?

A lot of rubber products are used in the car. But special attention should be paid to those that are used in the cooling system. The cooling system on cars is liquid, antifreeze or antifreeze is used as a coolant. It is highly discouraged to use water, as it leaves scale on the channel walls, in the thermostat, and also does not lubricate the pump bearing. The pipes in the system are made of rubber. This helps to reduce their cost. But the most important thing is that the engine can vibrate during operation, and the rubber pipes do not transmit vibration to the radiator.

Types of nozzles and their role in the system

All radiator pipes can be divided into two large groups:

- leads;

- diverting.

The difference between them is clear from the names. The first type of pipes supplies hot liquid to the radiator. The second type of branch pipes removes already cooled liquid from the radiator. Of course, the temperature regimes for both types will be different. The former will experience the maximum load, which will lead to the earliest drying of the rubber, therefore, to the earliest replacement of the pipe.

There are also pipes in the cooling system that connect the thermostat to the engine block and radiator. On some car models, the pipes supplying hot liquid to the thermostat may be partially made of metal. The expansion tank is connected to the system using branch pipes. The simplest scheme contains a branch pipe connecting the tank with a thermostat, as well as a rubber hose that supplies excess fluid from the radiator to the tank.

Heating system and replacement of pipes

On most modern cars, the heating system is connected to the cooling system. It is reasonable, because the heat is generated when the engine is running and is not used anywhere. And so, with the help of hot liquid, the interior of the car is heated. The engine does not work in vain. And the heater radiator is connected using two pipes. One supplies hot liquid from the cooling system, and the second returns to the cooled system.

The most interesting thing is that it is almost impossible to make accurate diagnostics of the branch pipes. They may look perfect, but the structure of the rubber may be broken. Or maybe the opposite is true - the top layer is slightly destroyed, but the entire pipe is in perfect shape. But it is best to change the pipes in advance, you do not need to wait until they burst and the liquid spills into the engine compartment.

Of course, the branch pipe will not be able to perform its main function - the supply of liquid to the radiators, as well as its circulation through the system. But you can tie the place where the crack has formed, add liquid, and drive to the place of repair. The main thing is to ensure minimal fluid loss. But it is better not to bring it to such a final, change the pipes of the cooling system every three to four years. The deadline is five years.
