The operating fuel consumption of the car, the amount of emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere and the ride comfort in general depend on the correct adjustment of the idling mode of the carburetor engine. It is hard to disagree with the fact that the presence of black smoke from the exhaust pipe and erratic engine speed are few people enjoy.

Instructions

Step 1

The idle speed of the carburetor engine is adjusted after warming up to the operating temperature of the cooling system (80-85 degrees). It is advisable to install a new air filter.

Step 2

Then the hood rises and, armed with a screwdriver, the idle screw on the tachometer sets the crankshaft speed equal to 850 rpm.

Step 3

Further, by rotating the screw for the quality of the fuel mixture (located next to it), it is necessary to achieve the maximum engine speed, after which the idle speed is reduced to the standard by unscrewing the first bolt.

Step 4

When it is no longer possible to increase the speed of the crankshaft with the screw for adjusting the quality of the mixture, it is carefully tightened, and at the time of interruptions in the operation of the engine, it is unscrewed back by half a turn.

Step 5

To check the correct adjustment of the engine idle speed, you need to press the accelerator pedal, and after the engine has developed a high torque, release it abruptly. If the engine does not stall and continues to run steadily, then the carburetor adjustment is correct.
