A car battery has an average life span of about 4-5 years. How to extend its service life?
Necessary
Battery charger
Instructions
Step 1
It is better not to use a discharged battery, especially in winter. Indeed, in the cold season, the load on it increases many times, and during short trips, it often simply does not have time to properly charge. Therefore, it makes sense to let the car work a little with the electrical appliances turned off before the overnight parking.
Step 2
In cold weather, you need to try to make it easier to start the engine. If you try to start the car, but the engine does not start even after 10-15 seconds, then wait about a minute before the second attempt. It is better to "warm up" the battery, for example, by turning on the high or low beam, and before trying to start to squeeze the clutch.
Step 3
Clean the battery terminals frequently and check if it is securely fastened. Vibration damages the battery - it can cause the active mass to fall off the battery plates. Also keep it clean.
Step 4
Charge the battery with a dedicated charger. The charging current must be at most 1/10 of the rated capacity of the battery.
