Buying a car is only half the battle. It is necessary to look after him carefully - then he will work properly, never let him down and "live" a long and useful life for the owner. To as rarely as possible face the need to repair your iron friend, follow some simple rules.

Listen to the manufacturer's recommendations and always fill with the oil that meets the specified parameters. Completely change the oil at least after 15-20 thousand kilometers. Try to buy only high quality and not expired oil.

Refuel the vehicle with good quality undiluted fuel. Whenever possible, use only proven gas stations and keep receipts. Do not let the gasoline in the gas tank run out.

Change the coolant in the radiator at least twice a year.

Take care of your suspension, do not drive along ravines and uneven roads. It is the state of the suspension that determines the safety of traffic, the stability of the car on the road, handling and, of course, the comfort in the cabin.

Take care of the paintwork. Wash your car more often, preferably by hand. Use car care products that have a protective effect. Apply an anti-corrosion coating to the inside of the fenders, underbody, body - and your car will not be afraid of dirt and rust.

Clean up, vacuum and dry clean the cabin more often.

To prolong the life of your car, do not carry excessive weights in it.

Always park with the handbrake as this will reduce the load on the drivetrain. Just do not forget to release the car from the brake before starting off.

Do not drive off the hill with the brakes to avoid overheating the brake pads. Better to alternately release and depress the brake pedal.

Never pressure wash the engine with a high pressure of soapy water; individual fragile parts can be damaged in this way. Clean it regularly with napkins and rags using mild cleaning agents.

When getting into a car, start the engine first, and only then turn on the climate control, radio and seat heating - this will reduce engine wear.

Listen carefully for unusual sounds; any strange extraneous sound should be carefully studied and eliminated. Change the pads if you hear a squeak of brakes, and a grinding noise may mean that the brake disc needs to be replaced.
