Cargo transportation is a transaction between the consignor and the consignee, which must be formalized in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. The rules for formalizing the process of transporting any cargo are determined by chapters 40, 41 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
Documents required for the transportation of heavy cargo in Russia
Usually, for the transportation of any kind of cargo by a vehicle, it is enough for a driver to have documents with him directly for the cargo and for the vehicle. But sometimes it is necessary to carry out the transportation of oversized cargo. It can be of three types:
- heavy (while in a vehicle, it exceeds one of the parameters of the permissible maximum mass or axle loads);
- large-sized (exceeding one of the parameters in terms of the dimensions of the train for its transportation);
- long (protruding over the tailgate of the vehicle by more than 2 meters).
When transporting such goods, additional documents are required. First, the invoice or invoice. The name and coordinates of the participants in the carriage, order number, price, method of payment and delivery are indicated here. The document also contains a description of both the cargo itself and its packaging.
Secondly, you need a proforma invoice to transport a large cargo. Usually, this is the way to register goods that have already been shipped, but have not yet been purchased by anyone.
Third, you will need a packing list. It indicates each item of the cargo, its number and weight. Such a document is issued in addition to the invoice.
An insurance contract is often attached to a shipment contract. The number of these contracts should correspond to the number of parties involved in the transportation process at each stage. The contract for the registration of the carriage of goods indicates the route and organizational features of the process, as well as the responsibilities of each of the parties.
You also cannot do without a consignment note. It is issued in four copies and consists of the commodity and transport sections. The first defines the relationship between the one who sends the cargo and the one who receives it. The second section defines the responsibilities of the sender and the shipping company.
Heavy loads can only be transported with the permission of the road owner. This is necessary when the cargo cannot be delivered in parts or by other means of transport. When the route is changed, such permission is renewed.
Features of transportation of oversized cargo
Companies offering services for the transportation of especially large cargo must have a corresponding certificate. It is provided by the Russian Ministry of Transport. A special permit is also issued there. Currently, the procedure for obtaining it has been greatly simplified. It can be issued within 15 days for one or several trips. But no more than 10 shipments. The validity of such a document is up to 3 months.
