The list of documents required to obtain a driver's license differs depending on the grounds on which a citizen has the right to issue a license.
If a citizen receives a driver's license for the first time or opens a new category, he needs to submit the following documents to the traffic police of his constituent entity of the Russian Federation:
- application for a driver's license;
- driver's license (for persons opening a new category);
- passport or other identity document;
- a document confirming registration at the place of residence or stay (permanent registration is indicated in the passport);
- medical certificate of the established form;
- document on the completion of training;
- a document confirming the payment of the state fee.
Citizens who replace a driver's license due to the expiration of its validity period or receive a duplicate due to its loss, provide the following documents:
- application for a driver's license;
- driver's license (those who have lost it do not provide);
- passport or other identity document;
- a document confirming registration at the place of residence or stay;
- medical certificate of the established form;
- a document confirming the payment of the state fee.
Persons who have changed personal data (for example, full name) provide an additional certificate of name change (issued by the registry office).
It is necessary

- - a document on the completion of training (for persons acquiring rights for the first time or opening a new category);

- - certificate of name change (for persons who have changed their personal data (full name));
- - photocopies of all documents and receipts for payment.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all the necessary documents indicated in the column "You will need". Contact the traffic police department at the place of your registration or temporary registration. We advise you to call in advance to find out the work schedule.
Step 2
Come to the traffic police at a time when the driver's license is being replaced. Contact the so-called "application window" and explain the purpose of the visit: replacement of the driver's license. You will be given details for paying the state fee. Go to the nearest branch of Sberbank or pay through the terminal installed in the traffic police. You MUST keep the check!
Step 3
Return to the same window specified in paragraph 2, and hand over your documents. According to your papers, the inspector will print an application for a replacement driver's license.
Step 4
After processing your documents, you will be called for a photo.
Step 5
And finally, you will be given a brand new ID. After receiving, DO NOT FORGET to check that all your data is written correctly (name, driving experience), as well as the presence of seals. Good luck on the road!
