In the course of tuning the brake system, it turned out that it is impossible to confine oneself to the banal replacement of brake drums with discs. A complete modernization of the car's braking system begins with replacing the hydraulic brake line and ends with the installation of disc mechanisms.
It is necessary
- - brake pipe wrench,
- - a device for tube flaring.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to reduce the cost of cars and increase the economic effect of production, auto manufacturers are currently installing steel brake pipes. But not so long ago, the hydraulic brake drive was equipped with copper pipes, which have increased anti-corrosion resistance compared to their iron counterparts, thereby extending the machine's overhaul life.
Step 2
When tuning the brake system, as a rule, copper pipes of an increased diameter are installed in the hydraulic drive. This entails the replacement of all pipe fittings.
Step 3
One of the most painstaking aspects of modernization is cutting blanks and expanding tubes. In this case, a special device is used, which greatly facilitates the process of tuning the brake system.
Step 4
The specified device has a pipe cutter, which cuts off a tube intended for installation in a hydraulic drive after flaring.
Step 5
Working with the device is quite simple, it probably will not cause complications for many motorists and is as follows:
- the surface of the tube is degreased with acetone, - the workpiece is securely clamped in the device so that a 5 mm segment remains over the gripper;
- the end of the copper tube is processed with a flaring mechanism, - the tube, the end of which has been successfully flared, is released from the grip, and both metal fittings are put on it;
- the second end of the tube is clamped in the device and expanded in a similar way to the previous one.
Step 6
When you have done the above manipulations, the flared tube will be ready for installation in the place prepared for it in the hydraulic brake actuator.
