Necessary

New engine oil 3.5 liters, oil filter, wrench 17, oil filter remover wrench, empty container 3.5-4 liters

Instructions

Step 1

It is most convenient to carry out the oil change procedure in a pit, overpass or using a lift. All these actions are carried out on the engine warmed up to operating temperature. If the engine has underneath protection, it must be removed. There is a plug on the engine sump to drain the used oil. With a 17 key, unscrew the plug and pour all the contents into any previously prepared container. After that, it is extremely important not to forget to reinstall the plug in its original place.

Step 2

The next step is to remove the oil filter. It is a low cylindrical part located on the side of the engine. If you cannot unscrew the filter by hand, use a special puller key.

Step 3

If it was not possible to get a special extractor key for the oil filter, use the simplest tool - a screwdriver. Using it, punch the filter housing to be replaced closer to its top. Then unscrew the filter using a screwdriver as a lever.

Step 4

Before installing and fixing a new oil filter, fill it with the purchased engine oil to half of the total volume. In addition, be sure to lubricate the rubber O-ring with fresh oil.

Step 5

Fill in new oil through the engine neck (the volume of the lubrication system is 3.5 liters) and close the lid tightly.

Step 6

Next, check the oil level using the dipstick, it should be near the "maximum" mark. To top it off, run the engine at idle for a few minutes and check again. If necessary, add oil to the correct level.

Step 7

Also determine if the engine needs flushing. As a rule, if you change the brand of oil, this should be done without fail. In this case, flushing oil or a special liquid is used, which gives the used oil flushing properties. At the same time, it is possible to flush the engine with new oil. To do this, it is enough to fill it to the minimum level and let the vehicle idle for about 10 minutes. Then you need to drain this oil and replace the oil filter.
