Step 1
The cooling system of the VAZ-2110 car will ensure uninterrupted operation only if it is properly maintained and preventive procedures are carried out, which include the timely replacement of antifreeze. It is important to remember that when you change the coolant yourself, the engine must certainly be cooled down. It is recommended to carry out work with the battery terminals removed and wearing protective gloves. antifreeze is a toxic substance.
Step 2
The best location of the car is above the inspection pit or on a technical overpass. If this is not possible, then the machine should be placed on any level surface. If the vehicle is located on a slope, it is important to ensure that the front of the vehicle is slightly higher than the rear. Before starting work on an independent replacement of antifreeze, you need to move the control handle of the salon stove to the extreme right position and take care of preparing a special container for draining the spent liquid.
Step 3
In order to provide access to the drain plug of the cylinder block of the VAZ-2110, it is necessary to first remove the ignition block module together with the bracket. Having placed a container under the engine for draining the spent liquid, you can proceed to the following steps: the expansion tank plug is removed, after which the antifreeze drain plug from the engine block is unscrewed.
Step 4
After all the waste fluid from the engine has been drained, wipe the plug, cylinder block and drain holes with a clean rag. Then you need to drain the antifreeze from the radiator - the drain container is placed under the radiator, the plug is unscrewed, the drain hole is wiped from the coolant splashes. All drainage actions must be unhurried and careful, otherwise there is a possibility of strong splashing of the car generator with the drained antifreeze. In order to prevent air plugs from appearing in the cooling system that prevent the new antifreeze from filling the entire system, it is important to do the following: in VAZ-2110 injection cars, loosen the clamp and disconnect the coolant supply hose at its attachment point with the throttle valve heating fitting; in VAZ-2110 carburetor cars, the hose is removed at the attachment point with a carburetor heating union.
Step 5
After that, all the plugs are tightly tightened, and the cooling system is filled with new antifreeze: the liquid is poured to the level recommended by the manufacturer. After tightening the expansion tank cap and replacing the coolant supply hose and ignition module with battery terminals, it is necessary to warm up the engine to its operating temperature - until the fan turns on. If there were air locks in the system, then the level of antifreeze may decrease. In this case, the engine must be turned off, and the coolant must be added in the required amount.
Step 6
If on the device showing the temperature of the coolant, the arrow has shifted to the red zone, but the fan has not turned on, then the air coming from the cabin stove can be used to diagnose the probable cause of this problem: if the air is hot, then the fan itself may be malfunctioning; if the air is cold, a large air lock could have formed in the system. To remove the plug, it is necessary to cool the engine, very carefully unscrew the cap of the expansion tank, disconnect the antifreeze supply hose again and add fluid to the tank to the desired level.
