If the engine of your car is constantly overheating, and you have to stop and wait for the engine to cool down, then the most correct solution in this situation, which will help you save time and nerves, will be to replace the antifreeze in the cooling system.
Necessary
- - new antifreeze or antifreeze (at least 6 liters);
- - Phillips screwdriver;
- - head to "10";
- - a wide container with a volume of at least 6 liters;
- - the key to "13".
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the Internet and find out about all the brands of antifreeze and antifreeze that the manufacturer (AvtoVAZ) recommends pouring into the cooling system. Type in the search box the query "AvtoVAZ recommends antifreeze (or antifreeze) and press" Enter. "In particular, one of the recommended brands is" Felix Carbox ".
Step 2
Go to the car market (auto shop) and consult with the sellers what kind of antifreeze is usually poured into the top ten, or ask relatives or friends who understand cars for help in choosing antifreeze (or antifreeze).
Step 3
Change the antifreeze only on a cooled engine. Before starting work, the pressure in the cooling system must be relieved. To do this, open the cover of the expansion tank.
Step 4
To make it easier for you to work, remove the engine protection. Take a Phillips screwdriver and unscrew 2 self-tapping screws on the left and right side of the motor guard. Next, use the "10" head to unscrew the 2 bolts on the rear side of the engine protection. Then, using the "10" head, unscrew the 5 bolts of the front protection attachment and remove it.
Step 5
Place a container under the radiator drain located on its right tank. Unscrew the plug by hand and drain the antifreeze. Once the coolant has finished draining, screw the drain plug back on.
Step 6
Locate the bolt on the front of the cylinder block that covers the drain hole of the engine cooling jacket. This hole is located near the transmission clutch housing. Substitute the container and unscrew the bolt using the "13" wrench. After draining the coolant, tighten the bolt.
Step 7
Pour new antifreeze into the expansion tank until it is full and start the engine of your car. Now squeeze each hose of the cooling system several times to squeeze air out of the system and allow the antifreeze to circulate freely. If the level of antifreeze in the expansion tank drops, add it. Warm up the engine until the radiator fan comes on. After that, turn off the engine, tighten the expansion tank cap and replace the engine protection.
