Instructions

Step 1

Before starting the engine, set the reverse gear shift knob to the neutral position. Fill the fuel system with a manual priming pump.

Step 2

Turn the carburetor fuel corrector lever as far as it will go to enrich the fuel mixture. However, if the engine is warm, do not use the fuel corrector when starting.

Step 3

Place the emergency stop switch on the nut securing the switch to the instrument panel. Set the ignition key to the first detent position when turning the key to the right. Switch on the ignition by pressing the button on the instrument panel. In this case, it should protrude above the plane of the switch by 12 mm.

Step 4

If the engine is equipped with an electric start system, to start it, turn on the electric starter by moving the ignition switch all the way to the right. After starting, immediately lower the key, which will automatically return to its original position. Otherwise, parts of the electric starter may be damaged.

Step 5

Do not turn on the starter for more than 5 - 10 seconds. Allow sufficient pauses to cool the starter between repeated attempts to start the engine.

Step 6

If the snowmobile is not equipped with an electric start system or the engine is very cold due to insufficient battery charge, start with a recoil starter. Pull it slowly at first, and when the protrusions of the fan drive pulley engage with the cams of the starter, pull the starter rope handle with a jerk.

Step 7

Without dropping the handle, return it to its original position. If the engine does not start on the first try, start again. To relieve it, inject clean gasoline (about 60 g) of positive temperature into the carburetor diffuser.

Step 8

Install warm plugs or close off the carburetor inlet to facilitate starting just before starting. Do not pull out the recoil starter rope to its full length.

Step 9

To start the engine from the emergency system, remove the starter from the engine, having previously unscrewed the mounting bolts. Wind the starter cord from the kit of spare tools and accessories clockwise into the groove of the fan drive pulley. Start the engine by sharply pulling out the lanyard handle.
