Determine the type of antenna you intend to install on your vehicle. It can be an active or passive device. Antennas are also divided into external and internal antennas. In order to install an internal antenna in the passenger compartment, it may be necessary to mount a signal amplifier with a separate power supply. If you are interested in small dimensions and easy installation, opt for an internal antenna.

Evaluate the principled possibility of attaching an external antenna to your car. For the installation site, select the point that will provide the highest antenna height. Please note that the installation procedure for the telescopic and whip antennas will be different, and that you will have to make minimal changes to the roof or hood of the vehicle.

Before purchasing a car antenna, carefully read its passport; evaluate the parameters of the device and warranty. Make sure that the antenna will provide the signal quality you require with the lowest noise level and the highest signal gain.

Select a window opening or rear window surface to mount the indoor antenna. Try on the antenna on which you have chosen at the place of the intended attachment to make sure that it will fit into the dimensions of the surface and will not interfere with the view of the traffic situation from the driver's seat.
