Car antennas serve many purposes. They receive radio signals, serve as a means of communication, and even catch television channels. For a high quality received signal, choose an antenna depending on the technical characteristics of the radio.
Necessary
- Drill
- Side cutters
- Phillips screwdriver
- Insulating tape
Instructions
Step 1
Car antennas are of several types - in-car, in-line, magnetic. The installation methods are also different.
Step 2
The in-car antenna is glued to the windshield in the upper right corner. Degrease the glass. Depending on the selected antenna model, and they come in different modifications, stick the antenna unit and antennae on the glass.
Step 3
Disassemble the right leg and run the wire along it from the antenna to the radio. The wire is connected to a special socket for the antenna wire. If the antenna is active, connect the two wires. The negative wire to the car body, the positive wire to the antenna output.
Step 4
The in-line antenna is installed on the roof, fenders or bumper of the car If the antenna is installed on the roof, then the headliner must be partially disassembled in the passenger compartment. A hole is drilled at the selected installation location and a sealant is applied to protect the antenna from moisture. The antenna is inserted and tightened from below with bolts or self-tapping screws, depending on the antenna model. Pull the wire to the radio in the passenger compartment. Typically, if the antenna is mounted on a fender or bumper, the wire is pulled over the sill of the car. For this, the threshold is preliminarily disassembled.
