The car antenna appeared along with the radio that was installed in the car. Modern cars have several antennas required to receive radio, television and satellite signaling.
Instructions
Step 1
Find two small pieces of copper wire. Connect them together with an RG6 antenna cable, these will be the antenna halves. Set the part of the resulting structure, to which the center wire is soldered, vertically up, and the other half down. This is necessary due to the peculiarities of polarization, because the antenna is an ordinary dipole. Connect the remaining end of the cable to the device. When installing, make sure that the antenna is rigid enough to stay stable while the machine is in motion.
Step 2
Use the car body as a natural antenna. It is perfect as a covert and matched antenna. Look for a slot in the car with a total length of one and a half to three meters that will allow the antenna to work effectively in the desired range. For this, the trunk lid or the gap between the body and the tailgate is perfect.
Step 3
Remember that this is a slit antenna, so there should not be any insulation between the trunk lid and the body of the car, on the contrary, a good electrical contact is needed there. Mount the box with the matching device (SU) on the self-tapping screws right next to the trunk lock. Connect the SU output with twisted pair to the paddles of the lock. Make sure that the wires are not pinched by the door, trunk.
Step 4
Remember that sometimes the quality and level of the received signal depends on the location and angle of inclination. Any antenna should be placed vertically. Try to place it on metal parts, and do not place it at an angle to the roof. Bending reduces the quality of reception, for example, at an inclination of 30 degrees, the radiation effect is reduced by 25%. Try to put the cut-in antenna on the roof, which will achieve the maximum height and, accordingly, the greatest gain.
