The body is a component of any car that requires careful maintenance, timely inspection and repair. One of the types of repairs is body welding, which is usually carried out by specialists. This service is not cheap today. It is for this reason that many car owners are trying to boil the car body on their own at home.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a semiautomatic welding machine, which can be rented or purchased from a specialized store. Free the interior of the vehicle by completely removing all panels and stowing the seats. Wash the body thoroughly inside and outside the vehicle. To do this, gently wipe all parts with a cloth, warm water and a special detergent. Let the body dry.
Step 2
Take coarse sandpaper and run it over all the joints. The quality of the stripping largely determines the quality of the weld that you make.
Step 3
Take a welding machine, put on gloves and a mask. Remember, compliance with safety measures when working with a welding machine is very important, since there is a chance not only to spoil the parts that are being welded, but also to your health. After all, it is known that when welding gets into the eyes or on the body, a burn occurs.
Step 4
Boil the necessary places with a stitch length of 2 cm and in 5 cm increments. This welding will be much stronger than any spot. It significantly increases the rigidity of the body and reduces its deformation during its operation, and in particular under heavy loads. You should know that, as a rule, everything is boiled in the body, except for the muzzle, since the load on it is usually minimal, but still in those cars where the front suspension has a large emphasis, that is, where the front "paws" are attached to the transverse beam still needs to be boiled. As for the floor, it can be steamed on both sides.
Step 5
Treat the welded seams with a special acidic primer. Assemble the vehicle by carefully securing all panels and seats. Everything is ready, now you can not be afraid for the quality of your work.
Step 6
Please note that the front of the car (fenders and hood) is usually not boiled, but the seams of the struts, the pallet and the rear are carefully processed.
