It is necessary
access to the Internet
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure the vehicle you are interested in has passed through the auction. Open a site containing auction statistics, for example, www.pravto.ru. The more sites you use for search, the more you will be able to find the auction list, since their statistics are based on external search, search for results by VIN is usually not available. Having found the desired position in the list of one of the sites, rewrite its identifier and find out the necessary information for the purchase by its values.
Step 2
Look carefully at the vehicle identifier, it is assigned to each of them when released from the 80s. It usually contains 17 characters, including numbers and letters of the Latin alphabet. The first three of them contain the information of the world producer index. The first character is the country of manufacture, the second is the manufacturing plant, the third is the type of vehicle itself, for example, a truck or car, and so on.
Step 3
Pay attention to the symbols from the fourth to the eighth, they are one of the main ones when decoding the VIN-code of a car, showing its main technical characteristics, such as, for example, body type, engine, series, model, and so on. The ninth character is a check digit that determines the correctness of this identifier. If it is incorrect, it most likely indicates that the car was stolen and some of the code digits were interrupted.
Step 4
Pay special attention to the tenth character of the VIN identifier if it is important for you to know the year of the car. The letter "A" speaks of 1980, "M" - 1991, number 4 - 2004 (the only exceptions here are Ford cars). The eleventh character of the code contains information about the manufacturer. Characters from twelfth to seventeenth usually contain data about the sequence of passage of the vehicle through the container of the manufacturer. This is the body number.
