A car covered with a carbon film, in addition to its spectacular appearance, acquires protection from external environmental influences. It reliably protects the body paintwork from the effects of water, ultraviolet rays and flying off grains of sand.
It is necessary
- - carbon film
- - water
- - spray gun
- - a piece of matter
- - plastic card
Instructions
Step 1
There are two ways to glue a car with a carbon film: using water or dry. They differ only in that in the first case, the surface of the machine must be moistened with water from a sprayer.
Step 2
Use a plastic card to stick the film. This tool will successfully expel air bubbles from under the canvas and smooth out creases. Invite an assistant to edit the film. One of you will have to hold the film so that it does not stick ahead of time, and the other will gradually smooth it out with a card.
Step 3
Prepare the surface of the vehicle before installing the film. Wash, polish and degrease difficult embossed areas of the body. Finally, wipe every square centimeter with a dry cloth. If you intend, in addition to the body, to cover any elements inside the cabin with carbon, prepare them for this procedure in the same way.
Step 4
Apply the foil and smoothen first a small radius, so that then, expanding it, gradually cover the entire surface of the car and avoid material shrinkage. Periodically heat the film with a hair dryer, not exceeding 60 - 70 degrees, otherwise the applied layer may lose its original color and even collapse.
Step 5
Cover each body element with carbon foil in a separate single piece. At the same time, try to lay it immediately on the entire surface of the treated area, and only then smooth it. As a last resort, when connecting several canvases, perform a small overlap of one panel on another. This will save the adhesive layer of the coating from the ingress of air and water.
Step 6
When you start decorating complex surfaces with film, make sure that the ends of the hanging parts of the canvas do not stick together. It will hardly be possible to tear them apart without causing damage to the design and appearance of the car.
Step 7
Do not stretch the canvas too much and be sure to blow air out from under it. If this could not be avoided, press the problem area with a wet rag and walk through it with a stream of hot air. As a result, the material will shrink and there will be no traces of the defect. After wrapping the car, leave it for ten days for the film to set and cure.
