The application of a matte film will not only make the appearance of the car original, but also protect its original paint from sliding shocks and mechanical corrosion. If desired, the film can be easily dismantled and repaired.
It is necessary
- - vinyl film;
- - masking tape;
- - spray gun;
- - soap solution;
- - rubber squeegee;
- - felt squeegee;
- - hairdryer.
Instructions
Step 1
The air temperature when pasting the car must be at least plus 20 degrees. Otherwise, the film will not adhere or will hold out for a very short time after possible adhesion. Do not carry out the procedure outdoors in windy weather, in order to avoid dust and small debris falling on the glued surface.
Step 2
Wash your car to a shine. Wipe the area selected for applying the vinyl with a degreaser. A weak solution of white spirit is perfect for this.
Step 3
Without removing from the backing (white paper on the back), attach the film to the treated area and use masking tape to mark its exact location on the car. Pay close attention to this stage, since the final result of the work will depend on the accuracy of its implementation.
Step 4
Use a spray bottle to cover every millimeter of the area to be coated with soapy water. Applying this solution will correct the position of the sticker and remove air bubbles underneath.
Step 5
Carefully remove the backing by spreading the film on a flat surface. Make sure that the coating does not accidentally bend and stick to itself during the separation process.
Step 6
Apply the film to the car. Starting from the middle and working towards the edges, roll it out with a rubber squeegee. Dry and warm the matte film at the same time with a hair dryer. It is important here not to overheat the material so that it begins to melt.
Step 7
If there are irregularities and moldings in the area to be covered, do not rush to roll all the vinyl at once. Smooth the center section first, which runs flat, then carefully work the edges. If wrinkling occurs, carefully peel off this part of the film and roll it on again, heating it with a hair dryer.
Step 8
After finishing applying the film, dry everything again with a hairdryer and leave for 15 minutes. Then, sweep the entire surface with a felt squeegee, expelling any remaining soapy water and air bubbles. Cut off the excess and, heating with a hairdryer, fold and glue the edges. Leave the vehicle overnight for the vinyl to cure. Don't wash it for a week.
