Many car owners, wanting to sell their car, prefer to deregister it. Removing a vehicle from the register is a difficult procedure that takes a lot of time and effort, and knowledge of its intricacies can significantly speed up the process.
It is necessary
- - Application for the removal of the vehicle from the register;
- - passport or a document replacing it;
- - TCP;
- - a copy of the TCP;
- - vehicle registration certificate;
- - registration number;
- - receipts for payment of state duty and transit numbers;
- - power of attorney and its notarized copy (if deregistration is made by an authorized person).
Instructions
Step 1
You can remove a vehicle from the register only at the place of its registration. This requirement, however, does not apply to residents of the capital: if the car was registered in Moscow, then it can be removed from the register in any MREO (MOTOTRER). You should arrive at the selected traffic police department early in the morning in order to have time to remove the car from the register on the same day.
Step 2
Upon arrival, take a free seat on the observation deck, prepare your documents and open the hood. The traffic police inspector checks the cars in turn, so you have to wait a bit. When it comes to you, the inspector will check the chassis number, body number and VIN (identification number) with the documents. You must fill out an application to deregister the vehicle and give it to the inspector.
Step 3
The traffic police inspector collects statements from several people at once, checks them, makes the necessary notes and distributes them. Wait for your turn to come and pick up your application. Then pay the state duty and transit numbers, take a receipt for payment, remove the state numbers from the car.
Step 4
Take the queue to the traffic police officer (in some departments you must first get a ticket, and then wait for you to be called). The employee will need to give state numbers, title deeds, a copy of title deeds, vehicle registration certificate, as well as receipts for payment of state duty and transit numbers. Wait for the employee to complete all the necessary documents and give you the vehicle registration and transit numbers. These numbers need to be affixed to the passenger side windshield and driver side rear window.
