Very often the question arises before car enthusiasts: how to get rid of an old unnecessary car? There may be many reasons for this: it takes up space in the garage; the car has served its purpose, has not been driving for a long time, and the tax has to be paid for it. The government even initiated a program for the recycling of old cars, when owners were given a certificate for 50 thousand rubles to buy a new car instead of an old car. But, unfortunately, not all car owners were able to use this program.

Step 1
The car can be sold for parts, but first remove it from the register at the MREO traffic police. This procedure is not the most pleasant one. Huge queues, not very polite staff. So what does it take? First, come to the MREO of the traffic police at the place of registration of the vehicle. You must have the following documents with you: a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, an application for disposal (written on the spot), a certificate of registration of a car, a passport of a technical device (PTS). License plates must be returned.
Step 2
Some departments also work with electronic applications, so in order to save your own time, first call and ask if you can submit an application for recycling via the Internet. Of course, you will have to go, but only once and at a strictly agreed time: hand over the license plates and show the car. In the same case, if the car is not on the move, a traffic police officer can be invited for inspection at the parking lot. This must be agreed in advance.
Step 3
If the car is four-wheel drive (domestic production), cargo, if it is a bus or a heavy motorcycle, then it must first be removed from the register at the military commissariat. If the owner is not you, then issue a notarized power of attorney.
Step 4
In MREO you need to take an application form and enter the necessary data there. In the section "Please" you need to write: "remove the technical device in connection with disposal." Then, in the name of the head of the MREO, write an explanatory note, where you need to indicate that the car has been disposed of, the numbers and documents are attached (if any), if they are not there, then you need to indicate that the numbers and documents have been lost.
Step 5
Now hand over all these documents in the window for receiving documents. After submitting the documents, you will be told whether you need to wait for the document on the completed operation or you can come later.
That's it, the car is removed from the register, and the data on the removal from the register must go to the tax office for recalculation of the transport tax.
