When buying a used car, of course, you want to know its history, which the seller, in order not to drop the price, does not always fully disclose. If the car was in an accident, then it is important what was repaired and how well the repair was made. Your further safety depends on it.

Instructions
Step 1
If the entire car or some of its components were repainted, with a high degree of probability this indicates that the unit was being repaired or replaced. This means that the car was in an accident or was otherwise damaged. The consequences of the repair, no matter how carefully they are masked, can be determined.
Step 2
Check if the gaps are the same between the front fenders and the edge of the windshield frame, between the fender and the hood. Also between the bumper and both front fenders. In general, the gaps should be even and the same on both sides. Although, as far as domestic cars are concerned, some discrepancy may well be a factory defect.
Step 3
Not very high-quality painting can manifest itself in differences in the shades and structure of the paint, visible even to the naked eye. Pay attention to the rivets. The putty on the rivets gives out repainting, and therefore, the straightening of the body. Painted parts with chipped, chipped stones, which could not be left out during painting, also give themselves out.
Step 4
Look under the underbody to see if there are any signs of welding or straightening of the side members under the paint. The fastening bolts, where they are, must not show any signs of the effects of loosening. This applies to the bolts of the doors, hood and trunk lid in the first place. The license plate that has been in an accident will have traces of straightening.
Step 5
Finally, it is easy to determine if the car or some of its parts were painted with a thickness gauge. To do this, simply lean the device against the body surface. The thickness gauge will give out the thickness of the paint on the surface with a micrometer precision. A discrepancy in the thickness of the coating of 200 units indicates that the car has been tinted.
