When buying a used car, there is a possibility of buying a car that is pledged to the bank. When making a deal, check the seller's reliability by all available means.
It is necessary
- - TCP;
- - owner's passport;
- - contract of sale.
Instructions
Step 1
Ask the seller to show you the vehicle passport (PTS). Read carefully all the marks made in this document. You should have questions if the title "Duplicate" is written on the TCP. Duplicates are usually issued when the vehicle title is lost, or the owner of the credit car restores the vehicle's passport, because the original is in the bank. Often an organization is indicated as the owner of the car, in this case you will need to clarify whether the car is a pledge, purchased on lease, etc. To resolve this issue, visit this organization to check the legality of the car sale and purchase transaction.
Step 2
Ask the seller to show your passport. Compare your full name the seller in the document and in the TCP. If they do not match, then the person is selling a car by proxy, which should also alert you. Look at the period of purchase of the car by the previous owner - the shorter the period, the more it should alert you.
Step 3
For complete confidence in buying a non-credit car, ask the seller for a vehicle sale and purchase agreement. It will indicate how the car was paid for - in cash at the cash desk or bought on credit.
Step 4
If you do decide to buy a car from this seller, in no case do not underestimate the amount in the sales contract. Write down the real amount of money you paid for the vehicle. This will protect you in case the car still turns out to be a credit one, and the bank will already present you with its requirements for the return of the collateral.
Step 5
There is an organization called the National Bureau of Credit Histories, tel. (495) 221-78-37, which provides the service "Check the current status of the vehicle." Vehicle VIN code is required for information. As a result, you will receive information on the current status of the car, the presence or absence of issued duplicate vehicles.
Step 6
The list of credit bureaus is indicated on the official website of the Bank of Russia - https://ckki.www.cbr.ru. Go to the section "Information materials", in the "List of credit history bureaus that have passed state registration" you will find reference information. Credit history data can be obtained free of charge once a year, the rest of the applications are carried out on a paid basis.
Step 7
There are resources that contain databases on car loans. To do this, you need to enter the VIN-code of the purchased vehicle. Here is one of them:
Step 8
It is impossible to determine exactly whether a car is a credit or not with a 100% guarantee. However, you can protect yourself. When buying, write in the sales contract: the seller guarantees that the car is not a pledge for any loan at a bank or pawnshop.
