During operation, light scratches inevitably remain on the paintwork of any car. Small scratches may not lead to corrosion of the body, but simply spoil its appearance. But large scratches are a serious danger, since they can cause corrosion processes, and this will significantly reduce the service life of the car.

It is necessary

  • - different types of polishes;
  • - paint;
  • - varnish.

Instructions

Step 1

Use a non-abrasive polish to remove light scratches from the surface of the body that only the top coat of paint is broken or the paintwork is simply burnt out and weathered. Its composition is a special paste that cleans the surface of the car body and fills in microscopic scratches, making it shiny and smooth. After several washes, the polishing must be repeated.

Step 2

To remove stains and so-called "hairs" (scratches that are clearly visible on the surface of the paint, but not felt to the touch), use a low-abrasive polish. Apply it to the bodies and rub thoroughly with a rag. As a result of this treatment, "hairy hair" will disappear, and foreign stains too. In addition, the use of a low-abrasive polish will slow down the deepening of small scratches and cracks on the paintwork surface.

Step 3

If the scratch on the car body feels tactile, fill it in with a special pencil or colored wax. After that, the crack will become completely invisible, especially if you polish it on top. But this will allow you to hide the scratch only for a while, after several washes it will appear again, and the operation will need to be repeated.

Step 4

Large scratches or chips can be removed, or rather masked with a special paint. To do this, find the number of the paint with which the car is painted in the technical documentation. Purchase two bottles, like the ones that store nail polish. One of these bottles should contain paint, and the second should contain colorless varnish.

Step 5

Degrease the surface of the chip or scratch (acetone is the best for this), and apply a coat of paint to it. After the paint is dry, apply a layer of clear varnish on it. At the same time, prevent dust from entering the surface. When the varnish is dry, polish the body. After several washes, the paint will no longer differ from the main one.
