The car body is often susceptible to all kinds of damage and neither a seasoned professional driver, nor a newbie who just got a license yesterday is not insured against this trouble.
Any damage to the body is always unpleasant and annoying, but nowadays there are a fairly large number of methods for their elimination. In order to eliminate a small scratch, you can use a non-abrasive polish, colored wax or a special pencil, but if the scratch has a decent depth, then the problem should be solved more thoroughly.
Special paint
It is important to remember that with the elimination of a scratch, no matter how deep it is, in no case should it be tightened, since the surface of the car body, if it is not protected by anything, becomes more susceptible to corrosion.
In order to get rid of a deep scratch without going to a car repair shop, you can use one of those tools that are on sale today. One of the most effective solutions for redecorating a car body is a special paint. As a rule, this paint is sold in bottles, which are equipped with a brush, which is very convenient.
Preparing the damaged area for painting
Properly preparing the surface for painting is a very important point, which must be taken seriously.
If rust has already formed on the problem area, then you can remove it with sandpaper. When cleaning with sandpaper, it is important not to overdo it, because the more the cleaned surface, the more difficult it will be to paint over.
After the problem area has been cleaned of rust and any other unwanted substances, it should be putty. Ideal for this procedure is a two-component putty containing a hardener.
To level and remove any kind of imperfections on the dried putty, again, sandpaper is used - first coarse-grained, then fine-grained. As a result, you should get a perfectly flat surface.
The next thing to do is apply a primer to the damaged area with a brush or swab. After the primer has completely dried, the surface should be "brought" to a perfectly even state using waterproof sandpaper and water. Before covering the surface with paint, it should be thoroughly degreased. The surface is covered with varnish only after the paint has completely dried.
It should be borne in mind that the main disadvantage of this method is the difficulty of selecting a paint that is suitable in color.
