It is necessary

  • - paint of the desired color in a spray can;
  • - solvent 646;
  • - primer;
  • - automobile varnish (matte or glossy, depending on the type of coating of the entire car);
  • - putty;
  • - sandpaper;
  • - polish with abrasive;
  • - felt.

Instructions

Step 1

The most difficult stage is choosing the right paint color for the renovation. The easiest way is for owners of black and white cars. Ideally, the shade and color information is detailed in the TCP. But this is not always the case. You can often find this formulation: eggplant color. And these colors, when they are sold in cans, can be 5-6 gradations. For the right choice, it would be good to acquire a catalog of the color palette of a specific manufacturer, which you can bring to the painted body and choose the one you want.

Step 2

When everything is purchased, you need to proceed to the direct repair of the damage. Let's start by removing all dirt, rust and scratches with a fine sandpaper. If there is a deep scratch, it will need to be patched.

Step 3

It is very easy to putty on minor damage. We take a special car putty and carefully fill the damage with it. Then we deduce with a spatula the shape that should have been at the body before the damage. After drying, we grind the entire area with fine sandpaper. Keep in mind that especially large damage will not be easy to putty. The method is suitable for scratches and shallow dents.

Step 4

After the putty has dried, you need to wipe the entire treated surface with a solvent, and then apply a primer from a spray can. When applying the primer, do not go far over the edges of the area to be treated. The primer should be applied in an even, thin layer without dripping. If the layer is thin and even enough, then no smudges will appear. Apply 2-3 thin, almost transparent coats.

Step 5

When the primer is dry (4-5 hours) proceed to overpainting. This must be done in the same way as with a primer. The paint is applied in a thin continuous uniform layer. This will eliminate smudges. You should also not go too far beyond the edges of the treated area.

Step 6

Now we wait several days until the paint is completely dry and apply varnish. After about 5-6 hours, the paint dries to touch. Those. you can safely ride, but you cannot apply varnish yet. Therefore, after a day or two, we again wipe the area to be treated with a dry cloth and apply varnish in the same way as applying paint. The varnish must match the paint used and be based on the same solvent! Otherwise, the varnish will ruin the finish.

Step 7

After the varnish has dried, it needs to be polished a little. Take felt and process the area to be repaired. You can use special drill bits for felt.
