When the engine starts, the starter engages the flywheel and turns the crankshaft to start the engine. This is how the power plant of a working car is started up. But when the starter bendeks or the flywheel crown are damaged, the grinding of gears is heard from under the hood of the car, and it is not possible to start the car from the first attempt.

Necessary

  • - a hammer,
  • - bronze drift,
  • - a new flywheel crown.

Instructions

Step 1

In cases where the motorist has already encountered a similar malfunction and limited himself to replacing the bendex in the starter, the installed new spare part will not last long. Worn flywheel teeth, creating an increased load on the starter, will sooner or later, but again lead to breakage.

Step 2

To change the flywheel crown, it must be removed from the engine. The procedure is to a certain extent difficult, because you cannot do without removing the gearbox and clutch.

Step 3

But in those cases when the solution to this problem coincided with the repair of the engine, then this opportunity should not be missed.

Step 4

Suppose the flywheel has already been removed and is on the workbench. Moreover, the plane intended for attaching the clutch mechanism to it should be at the bottom, and it is better to lay the flywheel on a support so that it rises above the surface of the workbench by 2-3 centimeters.

Step 5

With a hammer, through a bronze extension, striking blows along the entire circumference of the crown, it knocks off the flywheel.

Step 6

After removing the worn-out hoop and turning the flywheel over, a new crown is put on it, which, in the same way, through a punch, is upset to the end of the seat.
