VAZ-2105 was launched in 1979. But in 1982 the luxury model VAZ-2107 rolled off the assembly line. She surpassed her predecessor in many respects. Engine power, speed characteristics, comfort of the driver and passengers.
There are not very many differences between the five (VAZ-2105) and the seven (VAZ-2107). Looking at these two cars, we can say that they are one and the same model. But no, there are many differences that will catch your eye gradually. The seven is a deluxe version of the outdated five. There are many improvements in it that the drivers do not even know about. The five is a cross between the VAZ-2101 and the VAZ-2107. Convenience is better than a penny, but a little worse than a seven.
Differences in appearance
The main difference that catches your eye is the radiator grill. On the VAZ-2107, it is larger, its upper edge is on a par with the hood. In addition, the grille is chrome-plated, which gives the car an attractive look. The front of the car looks a little more aggressive than that of the five, which has a plastic grille in black and much smaller.
The bumper of the seven is made of durable plastic, like the five. But the latter has two metal chrome strips located on the top and bottom of the bumper. And the seven has only one such overlay, it is located on the upper part. But the bumper of the VAZ-2107 still looks a little more impressive, outwardly it seems larger than that of the VAZ-2105.
In addition, the rear lights of the vehicles are designed differently. In the seven, for example, the reversing light is large, occupying half of the entire length of the optics. And for the five, it is two times less. And the chemical composition of the plastic from which the lanterns are made is much better in the seven, therefore, the product turns out to be more durable.
Engine and interior
As for the motor, the seven is a car on which a 1.6 liter engine is installed. The five boasts only power units with a volume of 1, 3 and 1, 45 liters. But on the VAZ-2105, engines with a timing belt drive were installed. This greatly reduced the noise coming from the motor during operation. Unfortunately, there are practically no fives with such engines left.
In the salon, differences can be found at every step. Seven seats are much more comfortable, as they have head restraints, which provide maximum comfort during the trip. The interior light in the 7 is located in the middle of the ceiling, as in the eights and later models. In the top five, there are two such lamps, they are located on the racks between the front and rear doors, as on pennies and sixes.
Heating in the seven is much better, because it is possible to direct the air flow down or up. The dashboard in the top five is more similar to the one on the VAZ-2106, each indicator in its own groove. And the seven uses a combination of devices combined in one case, which is more similar to the VAZ-2108 panel and later models.
