When installing a powerful audio system on a car, sometimes you have to connect large capacitors to it. Each time after removing the vehicle battery, it is required to carry out the procedure for charging the capacitor. Charging is also required when the capacitor is first installed.

Necessary

  • DC power supply (vehicle battery). The resistor that is included in the capacitor kit, or a 12V light bulb if not present.
  • The wires for connecting the capacitor are of the same cross-section as the wires for connecting the power supply.

Instructions

Step 1

Make sure that:

the capacitor terminal "+" is connected to the power supply wire of the amplifier;

the capacitor terminal “-” is not connected to the amplifier, but to the “mass” of the car.

Step 2

Disconnect the audio system fuse carefully.

Disconnect the wire from the terminal of your capacitor marked "+"

Connect your power source to the mains (we have a car battery).

Connect the supplied capacitor resistor with one pin to the capacitor terminal marked "+".

Repeat the above action if you connect it via a 12V bulb.

Connect the other “-” contact to the power wire.

Repeat the above step if you connect it via a 12V bulb.

Step 3

Reconnect the audio fuse.

Wait at least two minutes, after which the resistor must be disconnected, and the wire supplying the capacitor must be connected directly to the "+" terminal.

When connecting through a resistor, determine the charging time of the capacitor according to its technical documentation.
