Automotive oil is very important to the engine. It reduces friction between parts, increasing their service life. But oil is not cheap, and besides, few people like to change and fill it often. This is the procedure for the motorist, whose valve seals are out of order. Therefore, we will analyze how to remove the valve stem seals.

Necessary

  • 1) Dryer;
  • 2) Pliers;
  • 3) A set of keys;
  • 4) A set of heads.

Instructions

Step 1

Remove the engine top cover. To do this, unscrew the existing nuts using a key "10". After that, it is necessary to remove the camshaft. The most difficult action is to remove the chain from the camshaft sprocket. Therefore, before removing, loosen the chain tension by unscrewing the tensioner. Drive the car to speed to avoid scrolling.

Step 2

Bend back the petals of the special plate that holds the sprocket with the bolt. Access to the faces of this bolt will open, unscrew it and remove the sprocket. Now remove the bolts that secure the camshaft to the cylinder block.

Step 3

Proceed to remove the cylinder block. It is bolted to the main unit. They usually "sit" very firmly and very long. Here it is necessary to use a head and a device that extends the handle of the tool to increase the length of the lever arm. This will allow you to “rip off” the bolts and unscrew them. After completing this procedure, remove the cylinder block. It is necessary to remove the unit in pairs, in order to avoid scratches and dents to the body, as well as damage to other parts of the car.

Step 4

Dry the valves. This is the most responsible procedure. You can dry the valves using a special device. It is placed with a special cutout in the connector where the valve comes out. There is also a foot for resting on the block. Press down on the handle of the desiccant and remove the plates that hold the springs. Pull out the springs. Carry out this operation for all valves.

Step 5

Remove the valve stem seals. These oil seals are removed with pliers. To do this, grab the stuffing box with them and pull it towards you. The valve stem seal will be removed. Repeat this step for the rest of the MSCs. Remember to adjust the valves after replacing the caps. Also, the tightening of the bolts that secure the cylinder block and the camshaft are carried out in a special order.
