In recent years, AVTOVAZ has produced several models of cars, which have become very popular due to their low price and practicality. One of these models is the Lada "Kalina" - a small city economical car. However, even the owners of such unpretentious cars sometimes have unusual problems, for example, how to open the hood.
Necessary
- - operation manual Lada "Kalina";
- - set of tools;
- - cotton gloves
Instructions
Step 1
Take in hand the manual for the operation of the Lada "Kalina". It details the procedures for opening and closing the bonnet and trunk. In the cabin, to the left of the steering column, feel for a small lever. This is the hood lock drive handle. Pull it towards you. A characteristic click should be heard. The hood will slightly go up. Next, go to the front of the hood. Place one hand through the gap between the hood and the radiator grill. Place your other hand on the tongue of the safety hook. Move it gently to the side, lowering the hood slightly. The hook will release from the fastening of the lock. Now lift the hood up. If you have gas struts to hold the hood, then you need to open the hood as much as possible and lower it down a little. He himself will take a stable position. If there are no racks in the car, then it is necessary to pull the iron dipstick out of the groove and insert it into the amplifier on the inside of the hood.
Step 2
Use alternative options for opening the hood in the event that it was not possible to do so using the traditional method. Very often, the hood lock cable breaks. In this case, pressing the lever has no effect. There are several options with which you can open the hood even with a torn cable. The operating manual contains a detailed diagram of the structure of the bonnet boor. Study it carefully. You need to understand which lever in this lock pulls the cable when opening. Carefully insert a long screwdriver through the front grille and try to press this lever with it. Wire can also be used, but it should be stiff enough.
Step 3
Drive the car onto a pit or overpass. Remove the crankcase protection. It is attached with several self-tapping screws around the perimeter. Unscrew them carefully. Be careful, as a large amount of dirt accumulates on the inside of the crankcase guard over time. After removing the protection, take a bright flashlight. Use it to find the lock. Using a long screwdriver, press on the part of the lock that pulls the cable when opening. The tongue of the lock will be released. It remains only to open the hood from the outside.
