The bumper often does not need to be removed. As a rule, its dismantling is necessary for replacement, if it has been damaged quite badly, or for cosmetic repairs.

This procedure is simple, but it can be complicated, since water and dirt often accumulate under the bumper, threaded connections become dirty and rusty. Therefore, before starting the repair (preferably one day before), treat all threaded connections with a penetrating lubricant.
Removing the front bumper
You will need only three tools to carry out this procedure. Two keys - 10 and 14 mm, as well as a Phillips screwdriver. Disconnect the battery before starting to prevent a short circuit in the event of an accidental wire break. Such troubles sometimes happen, so be vigilant when dismantling. After removing the radiator grill, for this you will need to remove the eleven caps that secure it to the car.
The license plate must be unscrewed and removed the frame that is under it. Do not lose only the license plate or damage it. The next step is the most difficult, you will need to remove the headlights. Disconnect the power pads from them first to make it easier to operate. After dismantling the mudguards and proceed to the fog lights, if they are, of course. It is enough just to disconnect the pads with wires from them.
Further, if you look out the window under the headlamp unit, you can see the brackets with which the bumper is attached to the body. It is necessary to unscrew the bolts from it and remove the caps. You will also find mounts under the license plate and under the wing. Having got rid of them, you can completely remove the bumper and start repairing it, or install a new one. Please note that it is best to purchase an original bumper. An analogue of an unknown production may differ greatly in shape and quality from the original.
Removing the rear bumper
Disconnect the battery and remove the taillights. These are the first steps you need to take to complete the repair. After that, it is necessary to remove the mud flaps and remove the six caps with which the upper part of the bumper is attached to the body. Disconnect the power pads from the fog lamps, then remove the trunk trim panels.
The bumper brackets are also located under the fenders and at the bottom. Once all mounts are removed, the bumper can be easily removed from the vehicle. If the caps are damaged during removal, then they must be replaced. Of course, it will be best if you install new ones during installation. Assemble in reverse order. This applies to both the front and rear bumpers.
