You can remove the battery (accumulator) and replace it in a Ford Mondeo car yourself. To do this, it is necessary to remove the terminals, disconnect the fuse holder, remove the electrically conductive plate, and then remove the battery from the engine compartment of the car by unscrewing the corresponding bolts.
Necessary
screwdriver
Instructions
Step 1
Removing the battery takes several steps. First, you must completely turn off the ignition of the car and open the hood lock from the passenger compartment. After that, lift the cover of the engine compartment and remove the negative terminal from the battery, and then move it to the side.
Step 2
Then open the fuse holder cover. To do this, squeeze it with your fingers on both sides and open it upward. Then you will need to loosen the first fastener from the wire that goes to the positive terminal.
Step 3
Label the fuses in the holder to avoid confusion during reassembly. Then remove them from the spring contacts and unscrew the holder nuts. Disconnect the electrical connector that goes to it.
Step 4
Using a screwdriver blade or fingers, pry the fuse holder from the battery case. Then remove the device from the battery.
Step 5
Loosen the fasteners and remove the conductive plate from the positive terminal. If there is a thermal protective casing, remove it too by opening it in the appropriate direction and removing the part from the fasteners. At the bottom of the battery, unscrew the bolt and remove the holder plate.
Step 6
Slide the battery sideways slightly to release the second side mount. Unscrew the bolts holding the battery and remove the battery. Removing the battery is complete. To install a new battery, perform the above steps in reverse order.
